Beyond Technologies selected as one of the Best Workplaces™ for Giving Back in 2019

This list is based on direct feedback from employees of the hundreds of organizations that were surveyed by Great Place to Work®. To be eligible for this list, organizations must be Great Place to Work Certified™ in the past year and at least 90% of employees must feel good about the way their company contributes to the community.

We are happy to work closely with several organizations who make a difference in the daily lives of many people. Here are some of the causes that are extremely important to us:

Fondation Charles-Bruneau

Charles-Bruneau’s core mission is to give Québec children with cancer the best chances of recovery by financing research and projects in the area of pediatric oncology. Over the last few years, Beyond has been involved with the Fondation Charles-Bruneau and their yearly cycling event, the Tour CIBC. Last year, the Tour CIBC brought in $4.5 million in donations. Beyond has supported the Fondation and the Tour CIBC with a multitude of initiatives from office breakfasts to 5@7 events. This year, team Beyond will once again be participating to raise funds to defeat childhood cancer across Québec!

Baril elementary school
For the past five years, Beyond Technologies has been helping children from the Baril School in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

Our employees, along with Beyond’s financial support, raise funds throughout the year to offer a gift to every child from the Baril School during Christmas time and finance a field day at the end of the year.

Each year, in September, a volunteer committee is created to handle the logistics, from gift attribution according to each child’s wishes, to the purchase and wrapping of nearly 400 gifts.

In December, just before Christmas holidays, Beyond employees spend a very special and memorable afternoon with the children from the Baril school, for gift distribution.

Opération Enfant Soleil

Opération Enfant Soleil is a non-profit organization which helps raise funds to develop high-quality pediatrics as well as other initiatives for children in Québec. Beyond supports Richard Marchand, an exceptional young man who is actively involved with Opération Enfant-Soleil.

Richard has been a long-time advocate of Opération Enfant Soleil, working in collaboration with them for over 19 years by creating his own bracelets, all by hand. Thanks to his determination and hard work, he has raised more than $700,000!

In 2018, Beyond supported Richard in his initiative by bringing together our employees for an afternoon to make bracelets for sale (revenues donated to Opération Enfant Soleil) and to raise funds for Richard’s wonderful initiative.

Beyond will be supporting again Richard next month, on May 3, 2019!

Montréal Women’s Center

This past International Women’s Day, on March 8^th, Beyond organized donations to a women’s center in Montréal as part of our ever-growing philanthropic efforts. The Montréal Women’s Center is a key space for women in need in the city, providing educational and vocational training, information, counseling, and referral services. We accepted a wide variety of donations, including women’s clothing, baby articles, as well as toys and books. We also welcomed money donations for Beyond to purchase new items for the women’s center.

 

In 2019, Beyond created a Corporate Social Responsibility Committee to increase our involvement in many other organizations and support even more causes that are important to us. The voice of our employees is important, and new initiatives and ideas are always welcome. Together we will make a difference in our community!
